This film is about a Jewish Italian man, Guido Orefice (played by Roberto Benigni) who settles in Arezzo, Italy, to set up a bookstore. He falls in love with a lady called, Dora (Nicoletta Braschi) and soon after getting marrieh have a son together. In the second part of the film, Guido and his family get taken to a concentration camp on his son, Joshua's birthday. They are split apart from Joshua's mother and his wife, so he tries to do everything he can, to improve life in the camp for his son, trying to make his life beautiful for him.
This heart wrenching film is definitely worth watching. It is exciting, funny and sad all at the same time. With a historic and realistic aspect to it. I know that all the girls really enjoyed watching this film, over a period of weeks. But it is definitely hard to hold back the tears.
