Swimming Stars!

On Thursday 19 January, EHS Prep Swimming Squad, consisting of swimmers from Years 2-6, set off for Solihull School.

It was an action-packed gala, with relays but no individual races. Swimmers each participated in a variety of relays including backcrawl, breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle and the medley. Solihull had some very strong boys in their mixed teams but we certainly didn't let ourselves down and there were many close finishes!

Five Year 6 girls and four Year 5 girls swam as the EHS 'C' team and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to compete. The older girls were notably stronger than the Solihull team, winning many of their relays by several metres and the Year 5 team came a very close 2^ndoverall.

A special mention must go to the three Year 2 girls who competed so well against swimmers a year older than them, especially Lowri Bevan who made her debut and swam brilliantly! Thank you also to Harriet Barber and Maya Basra who moved teams at the last minute to replace Year 5 girls who were ill or injured. Well done to all swimmers.
