Scholarships & Bursaries

The School offers Scholarships at 11+ and 16+. All awards are granted on the basis of evidence of excellence and outstanding potential in a given area.

Scholarships at entry to Senior School
The following named scholarships are awarded annually at 11+, based on a girl's performance in the Entrance Test:

Chamberlain Scholarship: an Academic Scholarship, awarded to a girl from the EHS Preparatory School; Dixon Scholarship: an Academic Scholarship, awarded to an external candidate from the maintained sector; Anthea Cadbury Scholarship: an Academic Scholarship, open to all candidates and the Martineau Scholarship: a scholarship in recognition of excellence in Music - open to all candidates.

In addition, the School has a number of  EHSScholarships that are awarded to candidates who have reached an excellent standard in the Entrance Examination.

Bursaries
A limited number of means-tested Bursaries are available for entry at 11+for girls who show good academic ability. Bursaries are means-tested, that is, they are dependent on parental income, and may cover up to 100% of school fees. They are granted at the discretion of the Headmistress. All means-tested bursaries are re-assessed on an annual basis to allow for change in circumstances.

Scholarships at entry to Sixth Form
A number of Sixth Form Academic Scholarships ranging from 10% to 30% fee remission are awarded each year to current pupils by internal review and external candidates by examination.We also have range of Art, Music,Performing Arts and Sports Scholarships available to girls entering the Sixth Form.

Bursaries
Means-tested Bursaries are available to Sixth Form candidates of good ability in cases of financial need. Bursaries are available to cover up to 100% of the school fees. Bursary Forms can be requested at the time of registering.
